Power-106, KDey, Wild LA Area Hip-Hop Radio Owned, Operated By Ultra-Right Wing Conservatives

Power 106's logo, right-wing conservatives own it now.
Power 106 owned and operated by right-wing Cubans and non-Mexicans.

La Cartita --- Otto Padron, a former US Army officer with deep ties to counter insurgency and state terror units, is the COO of Meruelo Media, the parent company of Power 106 in Los Angeles, California. For years, Padron was traveling to countries like Honduras, Panama, Puerto Rico, Jordan, destabilizing governments in the name of US conservatism.

A Right Wing Cuban Site Told Us So. How We Partially Sourced This Story.

Otto Padron is a former Univision executive too. Univision has actively fought the perception of overly promoting a right-wing Cuban perspective of the world by deploying FUSION channel content on youth tailored platforms, like NETFLIX, and its online portal "fusion.com". Padron "served actively in the U.S. Army from 1984 to 1988 and he is a captain in the Army Reserve. Mr. Padron was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and Broadcast Communications from the University of Miami in 1991."

Televisa Connection.

Most Mexicans dismiss the news section of Televisa.

The journaists associated with Televisa are actively censored or willingly promoting the current oppressive Mexican government's privatization agenda. The Cuban born, Otto Padron, is married to Televisa actress Angelica Vale. Univision & Televisa engage in distinct business ventures, like syndicating telenovelas, and occasional shots of investment funds are sent from the much more powerful Televisa to Univision.

Military Officers As Media Execs: Part of a Trend.

Padron is one of many media and marketing execs with real deep ideological ties to the US military and influence in youth culture. Like Charles Garcia from Latino Rebels, Padron is one more military officer developing and shaping media narratives aimed at primarily Mexican youth who are unfortunately rebranded as 'Latino'.

Who The Fuck Is The Mereulo Group?

According to a Press Newswire press release announcing the sale from Emmis Communications to the Mereulo group, the "Meruelo Group is a privately held, diversified management company founded in 1986 by US Latino business executive Alex Meruelo. The Meruelo Group serves a diversified portfolio of 35+ companies across 7 primary industries with over 8,000 employees. The Meruelo Group portfolio is comprised of affiliates in a wide range of industries including: banking and financial services; construction; hospitality & gaming; media; restaurant food services: real estate management and development; and, private equity investing."

Chilling Effect On Non-Commercial Media.

Mereulo Media also leases the frequency 93.5 FM having bought the rights to use the frequency in 2013. Both the Riverside area and Los Angeles area frequencies are under the privately held corporation's control. Thus, KDEY 93.5 & WILD 93.5 FM are under the influence of right-wing Padron.

Conservative media outlets are gaining too much power. A key center of Chicano thought, the Los Angeles area risks becoming another hotbed of self-defeating right-wing ideology permeating through Mexican youth.
