On May 25, the body of Carlos David Ruiz Molina, 25 years old, was found lifeless inside a water container at the Corferias facilities, where the Baum Festival was held on May 24 and 25. According to his friends, Ruiz separated from the group in the early morning of the 25th and was reported missing to the event’s logistics and security people. However, their request to search for him inside the facility was rejected on the grounds that no one was inside.

Ruiz’s death remains shrouded in mystery, but what has been revealed is the disturbing behavior of the festival organizers. In an interview with Noticias Caracol, an employee of the event confessed that since the morning of May 25 the tragic event was known, but the order was received to hide the news from the authorities and the media to avoid disruptions on the second night of the festival, which was expected to be the most crowded.

The employee also revealed that the area where Carlos’ body was found was difficult to access, with fences and other barriers surrounding it. It remains unknown how the young man was able to reach that area and end up in the water container that was found with its lid open.

As investigations into Carlos’ death continue, the community demands answers and accountability from festival organizers and site authorities. The blatant disregard for the seriousness of the situation and lack of transparency has only added to the pain and anger felt by many.
