According to the Wall Street Journal, El Chapo’s son was the one who turned in El Mayo, blaming him for his father’s surrender

Like a telenovela, all the sequences of the mental and physical battle between the bosses of the Sinaloa Cartel. Although there are many astute minds that claim different versions, it seems that the true version is that El Chapo’s sons were the ones who turned in the ‘man with the hat’, El Mayo Zambada, according to media sources.

However, El Chapo’s sons, the Chapitos, remain in command of an important faction of the Sinaloa Cartel but with several wars against the elements that remained loyal to Mayo Zambada. Although temporarily the victory between these two sides is clear if the reports are true, the details following this surrender draw attention as it is very possible that it will unleash a strong war between these two cartels.

Mayo’s elements are still relevant, but if the FBI also managed to capture someone without the help of the DEA, it perhaps also speaks of a rivalry that has turned into enmity and lack of collaboration with said organization. Nevertheless, HSI and FBI operations make sense, but the lockout of the DEA in some of the significant aspects of the operation raise eyebrows, at least, on this end of the media spectrum.
