After 600 billion dollars in revenue is posted, Amazon decides it is too much to lose for workers to not be in office. The brutal summons is likely to make shock waves throughout the industry, but also speaks to headwinds and new attempts at large cap companies to dislodge themselves of non-compliant workers.
CEO Andy Jassy made the announcement late in the morning Monday 16 of September 2024 in a letter addressing the entirety of staff. The expectation is for workers to return to assigned seating on January 2nd, 2025.
