The young singer of regional Mexican music, Ángela Aguilar, recently released her new single “Gotitas Saladas” in the midst of the controversy generated by her relationship with Christian Nodal. The release of this single was not received very warmly on digital platforms, given the context of criticism surrounding her personal life.
Negative comments and mockery were not long in coming. “Gotitas Saladas”, unleashed numerous hateful comments on YouTube and Instagram, so much so that the artist decided to disable comments on her Instagram account. Among the messages were read phrases such as: “Everyone chooses the poison with which they want to die”, “Friend realize. Someone teach this woman about sorority”, “This song is only projecting the future that awaits her…”. These comments reflect the impact her personal life has had on the public’s perception of her career.

A week ago, Mexican artist Christian Nodal confirmed his relationship with Angela through a video on his social networks, in the video he argued that it was not a new relationship. “It is the continuation of a story that life made us pause in order to grow and miss. We let ourselves go, when we came back we were more ours” expressed Nodal. This announcement exacerbated the criticism, mainly because Nodal less than a month ago had ended his relationship with his ex-girlfriend Cazzu, an Argentinean singer and mother of his daughter of a few months and was already making public his relationship with Angela.
Despite the negative comments, the couple has shown to be enjoying their relationship. They have been seen happily together at different events, and have even shared the stage at a Christian Nodal concert. On social networks, videos are circulating of them traveling and enjoying moments together.
