The entertainment world was dealt a tragic blow on Monday following the news that Angus Cloud had passed away at the age of 25. The Oakland native had become a fan favorite in HBO’s award-winning teen drama series, “Euphoria,” playing the lovable and comedic drug dealer Fezco.

Cloud’s family said in a statement that he had “struggled intensely” with the loss of his father last week. “The only comfort we have is knowing that Angus is now reunited with his father, who was his best friend,” they added.

Cloud’s death occurred at his family’s home in Oakland, California, and the cause was not disclosed. His passing was met with an outpouring of grief by fans and fellow cast members alike.

“We are very saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud,” HBO said in a statement. “He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family. We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time.”

Cloud made his acting debut in 2019 with the release of “Euphoria,” with his on-screen performance as the sweet-natured drug dealer, a character he brought to life with thoughtful nuance. While Cloud was surprised by his own success, he refused to be limited by the stereotypes associated with his character. In an interview with Variety in 2020, he said, “You can believe what you want. It has nothing to do with me.”

Costar Javon “Wanna” Walton, who played Cloud’s adopted brother Ashtray on the show, expressed his grief in a post on Instagram, writing, “Rest easy bro.”

Cloud’s death marks a tragic end to the life of a young actor who was just starting to break down barriers in a fiercely competitive industry. He will be remembered for his compassion, acting talent, and the profound impact he had on the youth culture.
