Many on Twitter are speculating about the mysterious situation of Canelo Alvarez and William Scull. A purse bid for their mandatory match, which had already been rescheduled twice, was abruptly canceled again June 17-18.
Most insiders think Alvarez had been able to reach an agreement with Scull, though there’s no clarity as to whether a fight will actually take place as a result of this agreement as a purse bid is not a guarantee of a fight.
Scull Either Receiving Step-Aside Money Or Fighting Canelo Next
The Ring Magazine also noted that Alvarez is also hashing out the details for his next bout. Essentially, the two parties are working out a financial agreement that heeds the IBF’s mandating of Scull as a next opponent.

Despite the agreement, there is still no definitive answer about Alvarez’s next opponent. Some fans wondered if Canelo has decided to step aside and wait for a fight to be scheduled with the PBC. Some speculate that this might be in the cards, especially since the TGB is representing him during the negotiations.
