Donald Trump found guilty of at least dozens of fraud counts by a New York jury today in Manhattan New York.

Trump is the former president of the United States and as a result he has become the only former president in the history of the country to be a convicted felon for a state crime. While some Trump supporters are dismissive of the implications of a guilty verdict in New York, others can clearly see that a state in the American Union is taking their laws very seriously. New York is the financial capital of the world and trust in fair and transparent documentation and campaign finance and all finance becomes imperative for the brand of the city.

There are many supporters who feel as if Trump did not receive a fair trial but quite the contrary trump has received an exemplary amount of exceptions and accommodations to acknowledge his political significance. For example, while he is a convicted felon, Trump may not actually see the inside of a jail cell even after sentencing because his status as a president may conflict with the potential of Supreme Court intervention on his behalf. Trump can also pardon himself if indeed he becomes president but campaigning becomes hard if he is legally obligated to attend appeals and sentencing for such serious crimes.

Due to the nature of the presidency, access to information legal processes and straight power over budgets causes great concern if a felon becomes a president. Campaign finance law prohibits the diversion of funds to task other than actual campaigning. Thus, the fact that Donald Trump used Republican financing in order to pay off his mistress a well-known Porn star named Stormy Daniels is extremely problematic.
