Several independent traffickers are noting that prominent drug-traffickers have gone free after snitching on El Chapo. One member of the Cali Cartel is said to have killed over 150 people and will serve less than 25 years in prison.
Meanwhile, El Chapo is now in a Colorado SuperMax, but because he refused to testify is likely to make new alliances with prominent Mexican power gangs that control key aspects of Federal prison life.
El Chapo Informants Released
El Vicentillo has now also been released. He secured his freedom due to testimony against El Chapo. The arrangement provided information to the DEA and CIA for use against political opponents and rival cartels.
Since the late 1990’s, the Sinaloa Cartel has been known to collaborate with the US government in exchange for exemption from enforcement.
