Flight 2283 of VoePass Crashes In Vinhedo, Brasil, Leaving 62 Dead On Impact

VoePass flight 2283 left Cascavel bound for Guarulhos, with a group of more than 50 passengers eager to reach their destination. However, what seemed to be a routine trip ended in tragedy when the ATR-72 passenger plane crashed in a residential area near Vinhedo, Sao Paulo.

The manufacturer of the plane is ATR, a French aerospace company. The company is actually a spinoff of Aerobus and Italian manufacturer, Leonardo SA. The turboprop engine powered plane is designed to carry up to 70 passengers.

Approximately 58 people were killed in the crash, with 4 staff and pilot crew summing to a total of 62 people killed during the flight. Social media images appeared to show the plane losing control while also spinning into the ground. A crew of 7 firefighter units were reported to have deployed to the scene of the crash.

Brazilian president Lula de Silva asked for a minute of silence during an official event.
