Joseph “JoJo” Diaz Jr. is a professional boxer who competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics. Diaz was born on November 23, 1992, in South El Monte, California. A southpaw, the boxer is Mexican American, a product of the elite amateur circuit in Southern California.
While his record shows two back to back losses, these were likely due to Diaz’ choosing to fight individuals whose speed and size were too much. The losses were competitive against both Devin Haney and William Zepeda.
On May 20, 2017, Diaz won the WBC featherweight title with a unanimous decision over defending champion Gary Russell Jr. Diaz is scheduled to defend his title against Jesus Rojas on August 11, 2018.
