It has been reported that Kamala Harris, Vice President of the United States and the Democratic candidate, holds a five-point advantage in national voter intentions over the Republican candidate, former President Donald Trump.

According to a poll conducted by Ipsos for Reuters, the Vice President leads with 47% of voter support, while the former President stands at 42%, with a margin of error of three percentage points.

It should be noted that this survey was conducted following last Tuesday’s televised debate between the candidates, which indicated that the gap between them has widened by one point, bringing the difference to five points.

Furthermore, it is important to highlight that this new study sampled 1,690 individuals and was carried out on September 11 and 12. This contrasts with the most recent survey conducted by Ipsos in late August.

Additionally, the poll revealed that 52% of respondents believe Harris won the debate, while only 21% think Trump had a better performance.

On the other hand, Harris’s campaign has requested another face-to-face debate ahead of the presidential election on November 5. However, Donald Trump stated on Thursday that he would not engage in another debate with the Democratic candidate.
