Mexicans Reject Trump's Hateful Narrative (4/14/2016)

In New York, hundreds rally to oppose Donald Trump's opportunistic hate speech. While most New Yorkers would like to enjoy the warmer weather, many hundreds chose to 'rise above hate', as Semillas Social Justice and Art Collective would say it, and protest his presence and racist platform. Alongside other Mexican protestors, the collective wanted to acknowledge that love for one another and fierce intellect were more than enough to defeat Trump's elitist and pandering message.

Trump University; Trump's poor profitibality overseas; Trump's mafia links; the list goes on when enumerating the great deal of business failures and frustrations that have bogued down Trump's self-proclaimed success. The wealth Donald Trump inherited, according to some analysts, would have been better off invested in a stock-index linked fund. All this shows a deeply flawed and egotistical man who takes out his frustrations on others to further his own position in life. Trump embodies megalomaniacal insecurity, feeding off the same privileged failings of other like minded Americans.

Activists rise above hate with displays of art: Respeto!. (4/15/2016) Foto:Semillas Social Justice Collective

Still, not all people are plagued by this affliction of the mind and spirit. Semillas, Somos Los Otros NY, all convened against the message of hate, racism, egomania, and greed Trump so frequently promotes. Trump embodies opportunism through oppression, but these activists rose above with their displays of art, media and technology in a time in which Donald Trump appears to not even know how an Iphone is built. He is, after all, a supposed businessman whose great insight will lead to a deep understanding of all things economic. Everyone already knows he's a crazy, elitist and racist individual. However, few have taken him to task on a domain he is a supposed expert in: business. Currently, Trump is involved in one suit deriding Trump University's false advertising and fraud (for operating an unaccredited school).

Trump's links to plutocratic mobsters too betray a lack of moral center in a time in which he chastises the morality of Mexicans, Muslims, women, etc. For Trump, virtually anyone who has institutional racism arrayed against them is a target, but what is quite sad is his own inability to be moral himself. Thank goodness, the antidote to Trump is the enlightened activism of individuals looking to grow past the circus of hatred he puts on for a confused and regressive public.

I am not a criminal: Trump's ties to unpopular mafia leader, Paul Castellano, have been questioned recently too. Castellano oversaw mafia led construction price hikes in the 1980's. (4/15/2016) Foto:Semillas Social Justice Collective
