Ovidio Guzman Is Alleged To Be A Protected US Witness According to El Universal

The extradited son of Ovidio Guzman is alleged to have turned into a protected US government, according to ‘El Universal’. The DEA source also noted that Guzman would not be publicly presented owing to the classified nature of his case.

Ovidio’s prison records were a matter of speculation last month when they appeared to change shortly before the arrest of ‘El Mayo Zambada‘. His federal Bureau of Prisons record indicates that he was ‘released’ on July 23, 2024.

This new detail is starting to add support for the potential quid-pro-quo involved in El Mayo turning himself in while his children and his compadre, El Chapo Guzman’s, children receive accommodations and considerations from the US Department of Justice.

Nicole Navas Oxman, Senior Communication Advisor for the Department of Justice, has stated that Ovidio Guzman is set to appear in court before Judge Sharon Johnson Coleman of the Northern Illinois District Court on the 1st of October at 10:15 am.

While some tweeters pondered on the implications of releasing Guzman, citing the possible massacre that could have occurred had President Lopez Obrador ordered a forceful arrest during the infamous Culiacan event, it is clear that this new development holds substantial weight within the U.S judicial system.

There is a significant issue at play here. In the past, there have been discussions between the DEA and key cartel operators to permit their operation in exchange for information. It’s certainly possible that these links could be revealed in the process of ‘El Raton”s collaboration with the DEA. Usually, the ‘Chapitos’ have been regarded as the new guard that many Mexico analysts have observed as the more aggressive of the Sinaloa factions. Thus, it is surprising that one of the siblings is now willing to talk at depth about the cartel dealings.
