After the terrible events in New Orleans, the disinformation started. Mr. Donald Trump immediately linked the horrific attack to illegal immigration, giving no evidence — before authorities made clear the suspect was American. Fox News followed suit implying the truck moved north from south of the US-Mexico border.
The first thing FOX News did was accuse the Nee Orleans attacker of being from Mexico.

With absolutely no proof they claimed his truck crossed the southern border 2 days ago.
Turns out he was born and raised in TX and a Veteran.
Fuck FOX NEWS.
Amid a wave of controversy, Fox News has been hit with a massive $787 million penalty for a string of misrepresented facts, marking one of the largest punitive actions ever against a U.S. media organization. The case centered on one of Donald Trump’s most significant all time lies: the election rigging allegation.
According to AP News, “the stunning settlement emerged just as opening statements were supposed to begin, abruptly ending a case that had embarrassed Fox News over several months and raised the possibility that network founder Rupert Murdoch and stars such as Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity would have to testify publicly.” Eventually, Carlson drifted off to harness his own brand power, which likely was a direct consequence of his involvement with election lie peddling.
While there is skepticism towards the network, unfortunately, a portion of the population, often associated with MAGA, continues to seemingly assimilate the network’s reports as facts, further fueling the misinformation dilemma. Like other corporate entities that have been demonstrated to promote false narratives are increasingly viewed with suspicion, Fox News’ credibility has taken a blow. Many households are now reportedly asserting a ‘no Fox’ policy, given the network’s propensity for peddling construed truths.
Diehards Remain Faithful
Despite the growing skepticism, the network continues to hold sway over a significant portion of its viewership base, which includes not just households but military bases and other community spaces. Critics argue that Fox News, rather than acting as an unbiased news outlet, serves more as a vessel for misleading narratives on a 24/7 TV broadcast. One broadcaster commented about her mother, a regular Fox viewer, who is fed unremitting false narratives and may never confront the truth. The mishandled information is causing emotional distress, and critics believe the network’s misleading broadcasts will continue to harm society as long as they persist.
Trump used the New Orleans attack to complement his claims that illegal immigrants cause more crime than U.S. citizens. If the fear-mongering president-elect had waited until the facts were revealed, he'd have learned the perpetrator was a Texas-born military veteran.
