
Tom Holland, the acclaimed actor from the Marvel hit Spider-Man, has announced he is taking an extended career break. This follows the filming of his upcoming psychological thriller The Crowded Room, set to premiere on Apple TV+.
In an interview with Extra, Holland away that the process of filming the series was challenging, emotionally and mentally. In The Crowded Room, Holland plays Danny Sullivan, a young man arrested after a savage crime, leading to an intense investigation of his mental state.
Holland also took on the responsibility of producing the series, leading to an added pressure to his already difficult role. “In addition to the acting, being a producer and dealing with the day-to-day problems that come with any film set, it added another level of pressure”, Holland noted.
The actor concluded that after the film wrapped up, he needed a break. “It was a tough time. We explored certain emotions that I had definitely never experienced before”, Holland recollected.
Tom Holland has made the decision to retire for a year in order to rest and recover. Until then, the actor is looking forward to focusing on his mental wellbeing, something that he has emphasized the importance of in the past.
