Former President Donald Trump, announced that he will not participate in a second debate with Vice President Kamala Harris, a decision that coincides with a significant fundraising boost for Harris’ campaign.

Through his platform, Truth Social, the businessman announced his decision after it was revealed that Harris’ campaign raised $47 million in the 24 hours following their first debate. This amount represents the largest single-day fundraising total since the vice president assumed the Democratic candidacy, significantly widening the financial gap between her and Trump.

Regarding the debate, Trump declared himself the winner, although members of his team have privately acknowledged that his performance left much to be desired.

Harris, meanwhile, not only received record financial support but also garnered backing from high-profile figures like Taylor Swift. The pop star’s social media post allegedly prompted more than 400,000 people to register to vote in favor of the vice president.

Experts suggest that Harris’ fundraising reinforces her campaign’s momentum, closing a financial gap that could be critical in key battleground states. Until now, Trump had raised substantial sums, but Harris’ $47 million surpassed all expectations.

Nevertheless, both candidates continue with their respective campaign plans. The vice president is touring key states, with another rally scheduled in Greensboro, while the former president is headed to Tucson, Arizona.
