Gun Violence Ravages California – Jurupa Valley, Lake Elsinore, Now Monterey Park

The Monterey Park mass shooting, which left three dead and two injured, is a tragic reminder of the devastating effects of gun violence. The incident has sparked a renewed call for action to address the issue of gun violence in the United States. According to the Gun Violence Archive, there have been over 14,000 gun-related deaths in the United States this year alone.

This number includes homicides, suicides, and accidental shootings. The majority of these deaths are due to handguns. In response to this tragedy and other incidents of gun violence, many organizations are calling for stricter gun control laws.

For instance, the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence is advocating for universal background checks on all gun purchases and closing loopholes that allow people to purchase guns without undergoing a background check.

They also support banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. The Chinese Chamber of Commerce L.A., which represents over 1 million Chinese Americans in Los Angeles County, has also spoken out against gun violence in light of this tragedy. Chairman Chester Chong said: “We must do more to prevent these senseless acts of violence from occurring in our communities.” It is clear that more needs to be done to address the problem of gun violence in America. We must come together as a nation and take action if we are going to make any progress on this issue.
