Infamous sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was not just an inviter, but an invitee to high profile parties. In one instance, Dr. Mehmet Oz, a prominent television personality and current administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, has come under fire for inviting Epstein to a Valentine’s Day party in 2016—eight years after Epstein was convicted of soliciting a minor for prostitution.
Correspondence unearthed from the Epstein files reveals that Oz sent an invitation to Epstein for this gathering. Dr. Oz emailed an invite to a Valentine’s Day party in 2016 to Jeffrey Epstein. Oz appears several more times in the Epstein files, but much was redacted in the communications.
There is a parallel between Dr. Oz’s alleged relationships with individuals implicated in immoral behavior and broader themes of privilege and unaccountability among the elite. Epstein’s sex offender status was no impediment to his social return and acceptance by the extremely wealthy members of the current Trump administration.
