For Spanish: Here.
In the sports world, like Boxing, women have been integrated with their own unique skillset and communication style for broadcasting, commentating, and also headline sporting events. Recently, Amanda Serrano vs Katie Taylor was a Pay-Per-View event which astounded non-boxing fans due to the big money and attention garnered by the event.
Now, other sports environments are opening up for our women colleagues. In fact, for some of us, the presence of women is normal and routine. DAZN, ESPN and other broadcasters in boxing continue to integrate women boxers.
In key moments, people like the victory FC Barcelon imposed on La Liga. Alba Dueñas has a pronounced presence on Antena 3 Deportes. In that significant event, Alba Dueñas opened her section with the images of celebration of the title won by FC Barcelona’s female footballers before she moved on to report on the match, the press conference statements and the images of the Canaletes celebration. On LaSexta Deportes, there is a marked difference between segments with Alba and without.
Given the segment, sports, who are comprised of primarily male viewers, its not surprising that most of the followers would hype up her presence, physique etc. Stunning as she may be, there seems to be no desire on her end to cultivate a thirst trap social media presence. Instead, most news reports on her detail an effort to reside in the UK, learn English, then promptly integrate herself into Spanish broadcasting where she’s had success without leaving a cookie trail crumb of social media semi-nudes, etc. This is what makes her standout, as she leverages only her appearances on conventional press to cultivate her following.
While she does possess a Twitter, this is more inline with a serious journalist who happens to be stunning.
