On social media, various boxing athletes and coaches paid their respects to boxing manager, Cameron Dunkin, who passed away after a prolonged illness at age 67 on January 2nd, 2024. The most heartfelt appreciation came from Robert Garcia, who noted that Dunkin was the first active manager and promoter to entrust the trainer with champions and high-caliber fighters:

At another point, he also managed fighters like Jessie Vargas, helping the former welterweight obtain a fight with Manny Pacquiao.
Dunkin was highly regarded for his unique ability to spot talent early-on. Often, he would spot fighters, like Terence Crawford, and promote them despite their lack of connection to a large fanbase or metropolitan area. At the time of his death, he was actively managing Jaron “Boots” Ennis who is currently the IBF Welterweight champion.
