Ghislaine Maxwell Appears To Have Lied About Her Involvement With Jeffrey Epstein To Federal Investigators

Bloomberg News uncovered hundreds of emails from Epstein’s personal Yahoo account, previously unreported. They reveal Ghislaine Maxwell’s partnership with Epstein went beyond her alleged timeline. In one email, Epstein asked Maxwell about how he should plea to his 2008 trafficking charges. A month later Epstein pleaded guilty to those same Florida state charges and registered as a sex offender.

Maxwell claimed her work for Epstein “lessened considerably” after around 2003. However, emails show she emailed him around twice a day and comforted him as he was jailed in 2006.

One email had a spreadsheet compiled by Epstein’s accountant listing nearly 2,000 gifts and payments worth $1.8 million, directed to friends, associates, and victims. Entries include a $35,000 watch for a former Clinton aide, a $71,000 Lexus purchase for Alan Dershowitz, and lingerie and chocolates for teenage victims who later accused Epstein and Maxwell of abuse. The records suggest Maxwell helped arrange many of the gifts, though it’s unclear if they were delivered or accepted. Despite claiming ignorance of Epstein’s crimes, the emails show she was aware of his legal risks and actively advised him.

One email references the possible use of Donald Trump as a witness by the press. This essentially serves as a reminder that Epstein was the original first buddy. Please note that last week a handwritten note of Trump to Epstein was circulated amongst the press.

Returning to the matter, in one email, Maxwell deduces the possibility of media reaching out to Trump over business dealings between the two.

The emails indicate that Maxwell may have been referring to a team of reporters covering Epstein who she expected would be seeking information from Trump; from Abe Gosman, the late healthcare magnate whose palatial property sold to Trump for $41 million after a heated bidding war with Epstein; from court documents in West Palm Beach; and from Joel Pashcow, the Palm Beach police and fire foundation board member who’d traveled on Epstein’s private jet. Pashcow did not respond to a request for comment.
