Gustavo Petro, President of Colombia Who Condemned Israeli Genocide In Gaza, Calls On US Troops To Disobey Unjust Orders

The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, made a direct call for insubordination, declaring “Disobey Trump’s order, obey humanity’s order,” specifically addressing US military personnel with a megaphone in hand The unhinged Petro called for sedition among the United States Armed Forces. Amongs the usual detractors for justice and apologists for carnage, this statement was described as calling for “sedition among the United States Armed Forces.”

The World Stage

In what was quite possibly the most global of all stages, the United Nations assembly, Gustavo Petro accused President Trump of complicity with war crimes and genocide, saying “Trump not only lets missiles fall on young people in the Caribbean; he not only imprisons and chains migrants, but he also allows missiles to be launched at children, young people, women, and the elderly in Gaza. He becomes complicit in genocide”.

Petro railed against the concepts of master race latent in US and Israeli foreign policy. In the discourse, the first of its kind, Petro called for “a powerful army of the countries that do not accept genocide” and invited “the armies of Asia, the great Slavic people who defeated Hitler with great heroism, and the Latin American armies of Bolívar” to “liberate Palestine”. No one was more forceful in their spirit to defend Palestinians than Petro.

The appeal to soldiers sense of duty is not totally without hope from the perspective of pro-Palestinian groups. In the past, members of the US Air Force mounted a protest in Washington D.C., shockingly self-emolliating in front of the White House while in uniform last year.

More recently, a US Army reservist, Sgt. 1st Class Jonathan Estridge was notified of his “involuntary release” from a full-time IT staff role at the 350th Civil Affairs Command, a reserve unit in Pensacola, Florida per Task & Purpose, a semi-official newspaper for the U.S. Military.

“When I joined the military, I took an allegiance to support the United States of America. I did not ever take an allegiance to support Israel, but yet I am deemed a threat to national security because I do not support Israel and their genocide against the Palestinian people,” he said in the video. “Since when does not supporting a foreign nation get a U.S. soldier investigated for being a threat to national security?”

Nonetheless, the usage of far-right wing nomenclature in online posts and military wear by other members of the military has gone unpunished. Thus, the bias in outcomes appears linked to the power of Israeli influence within the most sensitive confines of the US government.
