Missouri lawmaker Ben Baker is mourning the loss of his daughter and son-in-law, who were tragically killed in a gang attack while serving as missionaries in Haiti. The Republican lawmaker shared the heartbreaking news on social media, expressing his immense grief and asking for prayers for his family and the Lloyd family.
My heart is broken in a thousand pieces. I’ve never felt this kind of pain. Most of you know my daughter and son-in-law Davy and Natalie Lloyd are full time missionaries in Haiti. They were attacked by gangs this evening and were both killed. They went to Heaven together. Please pray for my family we desperately need strength. And please pray for the Lloyd family as well. I have no other words for now.

The couple, Natalie and Davy Lloyd, had just moved to Haiti in November 2022, just three months after their wedding. They were passionate about their work with the NGO Missions in Haiti Inc. and were dedicated to helping impoverished children in the country.
The grisly and senseless murder of the young couple has not gone unnoticed, with even former U.S. President and presidential candidate Donald Trump expressing his condolences on social media. He also called attention to the alarming state of security in Haiti, urging authorities to find the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
This tragic incident has once again highlighted the dire security situation in Haiti. The U.S. State Department had already issued a travel warning in March, advising Americans against traveling to Haiti due to unstable security conditions. However, violence in the country appears to be on the rise, as seen in this heinous act of violence against the American couple.
