Israeli Soldier Filmed Shooting Palestinian Boy & Staging Rock To Claim Self-Defense

Outrage is growing following the broadcast of a video by BBC News which purportedly shows an Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) soldier shooting a young Palestinian boy, later taking a photograph of the boy while he bled on the ground. The incident reportedly occurred in the West Bank where on the surface things are better for Palestinians, but historically, has been a source of tension as Israel continues to expand illegal settlements.

The victim was identified as 14-year-old Jad Jadallah. Witnesses and family members expressed horror at the scene, claiming that the IDF not only shot the boy but also failed to provide medical assistance as he struggled to get up before ultimately succumbing to his injuries. A source cited by the BBC noted that two ambulances were blocked from reaching the boy, exacerbating the situation.

The IDF has faced intense scrutiny over its actions during military operations, with allegations of excessive use of force and a lack of accountability often surfacing. In this case, responses to the video reveal deep divisions, with critics labeling such actions as indicative of a broader moral failure within the Israeli military. The incident may constitute a war crime.

Human rights groups have condemned the incident, demanding an independent investigation. “When asked specifically about the allegation that the soldier had planted a rock next to Jad, the IDF declined to respond,” noted one account detailing the incident, emphasizing the need for transparency and ethical accountability in military conduct.

This latest episode adds to a growing list of well documented incidents concerning the IDF’s treatment of Palestinian civilians. Combatants have fared even worse than this barbarism, but the veneer of war time related scuffles provides some cover for the IDF.
