Paragliding Accident Results in the Tragic Death of a Young Woman in Colombia

In a tragic event, a 27-year-old woman lost her life while paragliding in the picturesque municipality of Calarcá, Colombia. The victim, identified as Daniela Barrios Higuita, a business administration student and mother of a 7-year-old boy, was visiting Calarcá with the intention of practicing extreme sports with her family.

Barrios and her instructor were reportedly airborne when she suddenly slipped from her seat and fell into a nearby wooded area. The pilot, unable to save her, landed and later informed the authorities about the accident.

As soon as the incident was reported, search mechanisms were launched. However, due to the remote location and difficult terrain, it took almost four and a half hours to locate Barrios’ lifeless body.

Further investigations are being carried out to determine the cause of the accident. In the meantime, her body has been transferred to the Calarcá morgue.

Just hours before the accident, Barrios shared a post on her social media, expressing her determination to overcome fear. Friends and family of the young woman took to social media to express their grief and pay tribute to her adventurous spirit.
