In a night full of beauty, grace and glamour, Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua became the new Miss Universe 2023. Palacios, 23, beat out more than 80 candidates from around the world to take the coveted title, in a ceremony held in San Salvador.
Palacios impressed the judges with her intelligence, charisma, and beauty, making her stand out among the other contestants. A graduate of the Central American University with a degree in Mass Communication, Palacios was previously crowned Miss Teen Nicaragua in 2016 and was later crowned Miss World Nicaragua in 2020, which led her to represent her country in the international competition.
The current queen has shown great growth and evolution in her image, proving her dedication and efforts to achieve her dreams. Nicaragua is proud to have such a valuable representative, who with her beauty and talent has conquered the entire universe.
Sheynnis has become an example of overcoming and strength by speaking openly about her struggle with anxiety. She is the host and presenter of the show “Entiende tu mente”, where she shares her experience of struggling with anxiety and tries to raise awareness about mental health issues.
“As a patient of anxious episodes, I realized that I am not the only person going through this. With the help of my psychologist, I learned to manage my emotions and now I want to share that experience with others to provide them with tools and support,” she expressed in an interview with Telemundo prior to her win.
With her charisma and message of female empowerment, Sheynnis Palacios is an inspiration to all women in Nicaragua and around the world. Her victory at Miss Universe 2021 marks a historic moment for her country and makes it clear that there are no limits to the success and empowerment of women. Without a doubt, Sheynnis now shines as the new Miss Universe and a true representation of female beauty and intelligence.
