Elon Musk, the owner of Tesla and Space X, has now ordered the change of the Twitter logo. The Twitter logo will now be changed to something that doesn’t have a blue and white bird font. Musk has aggressively rebranded, redirected and otherwise changed the cadence of business at Twitter. What is unclear is whether they will outright change the domain name, labels and so on or just the logo.
Recently, the platform has promoted a new userbase with reduced control of speech, which still has some notion of hate speech, but much less political bias than in the past.
An additional change during Musk’s tenure as owner, the platform will now push harder on subscriptions, reveal the past blacklisted accounts.
Bird Or No Bird, There Is No Cash
Apparently, the bird or X logo is the least of Twitter’s problems. The privately held company still has a small number of investors, like Cathy Wood’s ARK investments, that basically are chalking up losses on financing they provided Musk for the acquisition. Fidelity Investments, the pension management fund, wrote down its value by about 50 percent. Yikes.
Advertising revenue is still the principal source of money for all social media companies. The majority of them, however, post gains YOY with the biggest dog in the scene being Tik Tok.
