A Merciless Attack
In a shocking incident that has sent ripples through the international community, Rebecca Cheptegei, a celebrated Ugandan Olympic marathon runner, was brutally murdered at the age of 33. The horrific attack, perpetrated by her partner, occurred in Kenya where Cheptegei had been residing.
According to local police reports, Cheptegei’s partner, who was also an athlete, broke into her home armed with several liters of gasoline. When she returned home with her children, the assailant doused her with the fuel and set her on fire in front of them, causing her untimely and violent death.
