Stephen Miller’s dream to bully Mexicans in California is coming true. As a result, mass Chicano protests against federal immigration raids erupted since Friday, with the most ironic aspect being that they wouldn’t have if deportations weren’t so mean spirited. Throughout California, like when George Floyd was brutally murdered, mass demonstrations of resistance and solidarity have taken place. Censorship has also taken place in YouTube and TikTok, but not Meta.

First, demonstrators gathered outside the federal building downtown, including outside a detention center when word spread of individuals locked in a basement by ICE. At the local Home Depots, people gathered to defend day laborers as raids were underway. It should be noted that Stephen Miller has explicitly called for deportation related arrests to take place in those areas. Places of business, schools and other once off limits areas are now open to the American Gestapo raging through communities.
For his part, Governor Gavin Newsom has responded to threats around deportation and federal fund withholding by noting California could simply not pay its share of federal taxes. This would show an 80 billion dollar surplus in California’s budget. Not amused, the always blustery, narcissistic and arrogant racist president, Donald Trump, has taken Stephen Miller’s plan and ran with it by deploying 300 infantry men into areas of Los Angeles, mostly around federal building.
