The famed ‘El Bronx’ street in Medellin, Colombia, continues to ratchet up points for its notoriety when it comes to crime. Just in the past month, the area of Medellin has lived through 3 police operations that include as a result 12 tons of trash being picked up, a surprisingly low amount of cocaine (1 kilo) being decommissioned and 80 weapons being confiscated.
Two Men Found Dead After Being Declared Disappeared
Initially, David Lopez Gaviria and Sebastian Quiceno Restrepo were thought to be only missing, but their bodies were found in distinct points of the city by Medellin police. This is all according to local Medellin paper ‘El Colombiano‘
In the case of Lopez Gaviria, his body was found wrapped in a plastic bag on the afternoon of Sunday, 4th of February, by groups within the ‘Cuerpo Técnico de Investigación de la Fiscalía’. The agricultural engineer had been disappeared since January 31st of this year. The engineer had been forcibly taken from his home worse of all, and his body showed signs of violence. Specifically, Lopez Gaviria’s body was found on the Medellin highway which connects Medellin to Bogota.
US Citizen Found Dead In Medellin Hotel
A US citizen named Anthony Lopez was found dead in a Medellin hotel. The 29-year-old was found in a hotel room in Medellin after having first entered with 2 women. However, when the two women were seen leaving without him, the hotel desk workers decided to check on his whereabouts. Unfortunately, when the hotel staff arrived at the individual’s room, they found him unresponsive. They proceeded to call emergency medical services and he was shortly declared dead.
