just a few minutes go, the Giuffre family relayed a message via the AFP that Virginia Giuffre, who accused financier Jeffrey Epstein and England’s Prince Andrew of sexual abuse, has taken her own life.
Background
Virginia Giuffre (a.k.a. Virginia Roberts) was an American woman known for her central role in exposing the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking scandal.
In her claims, she alleges that as a teenager, she was trafficked by Epstein and his associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, to several powerful men, including Britain’s Prince Andrew, among others.
In fact that Prince Andrew lawsuit may be the most high-profile aspects of her story. Prince Andrew, Duke of York, is alleged to have engaged in sexual abuse when she was 17. Prince Andrew denied the allegations but settled the lawsuit out of court in 2022 without admitting guilt.
In recent years, Giuffre has become an outspoken advocate for victims of sex trafficking and abuse, working to raise awareness and push for justice reforms.
