Ryan Garcia (left) faces off against Luke Campbell

Ryan Garcia is set to fight against Luke Campbell, a British lightweight who remains a top contender despite losses to Vasily Lomachenko and Jorge Linares, both of which were deemed competitive.

Originally, the fight was scheduled as a co-main event to the Canelo vs Callum Smith fight in San Antonio. However, the Dec 18th date for Campbell versus Garcia was pushed back due to the Campbell contracting covid-19.

Most analysts have rated this fight as Garcia’s toughest yet but Vegas oddsmakers are betting that Garcia is set to defeat Campbell on a 16 to 1 basis. Garcia, a Mexican-American fighting out of Victorville, California is highly rated prospect known for his speed and power.

For his part, Campbell is a cagey gold medalist whose fought against the likes of Vasily Lomachenko and Jorge Linares and avoided knockout defeats with both of them. Instead, Campbell took both of these highly rated champions the distance, beffudling Vasily Lomachenko at a time in which he appeared completely invulnerable.

The fight will take place in Dallas, Texas, in a sold out American Airlines arena. On the undercard, Rene Alvarado who defeated popular Andrew Cancio in early 2019 will also defend his super featherweight WBA belt against Roger Gutierrez.

The Garcia vs. Campbell fight will be broadcast on Dazn 12 PST

Garcia has 4 wins by way of knockout since he joined the Reynoso family.

Curiously, the prospect will also be walked out into the ring by Canelo Alvarez whose been closely aligned with Garcia via shared boxing trainers and parallel training regimes.
