As much of the US media discusses the various contours for a proposed aid package to bail out cash strapped airlines, no one appears to have considered that the airlines themselves have adopted policies that could spread the virus.
Cramped seats, multiple and obligatory layovers and poor investment on upkeep for planes (much of their profits were sent to buy back the shares to prop up the artificial value of the company) may have done as much to violate basic social norms as much as health concerns.
In retrospect, the measures now being taken with infrared thermometers could have been implemented in airports throughout the country.
