A shooting occurred today in the prestigious area of 93rd street, in the city of Bogota, leaving a tragic toll of one person dead and two more wounded. The fatal victim was identified as Roberto Franco Charry, a businessman and brother of the former director of the DIAN (Colombian National Tax and Customs Directorate), Oscar Franco.
According to the police, it is a case of hired assassin. The event took place at the exit of the parking lot of his office, an individual on a motorcycle approached Roberto Franco Charry and shot him directly with a firearm, which confirms that the attack was specifically directed against him. According to other police reports, Charry had received threats in the past due to his work as an auditor of large sums of money. One of the alleged hitman was wounded during the shooting and was fortunately captured.
This incident adds to the wave of insecurity and violence that has occurred in recent days in Bogota, generating concern and indignation among citizens. With an increase in cases of muggings, violence and murders, the city is becoming a dangerous place for both its inhabitants and visiting tourists.
