Sombre News in Central Croatia
In a shocking episode, an armed assailant entered a care home in central Croatia on Monday, unleashing gunfire that tragically claimed the lives of at least six people and left another six wounded, according to police reports. This incident marks a rare incident of gun violence in the otherwise peaceful Balkan country. The suspect, identified as a former policeman, further adds to the chilling nature of this act. It has been reported that the assailant was responsible for the shooting at the nursing home located in Daruvar, Croatia.
The suspect was arrested near a cafe. Croatia’s national chief of police, Nikola Milina, said that five were left dead immediately while another passed at hospital. Apparently, the suspect’s mother was among the dead.
The individual was a war veteran of some kind with alcoholism, a local and known to many around the area. Born in 1973, the suspect was a veteran of a Croatian war in 1991 to 1995.
