Trump’s Plan for Gaza Includes Resettling Palestinians in Jordan and Egypt – No Right Of Return

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday his firm intention to take control of the Gaza Strip as part of his proposal to ensure its administration and promote large-scale economic development. The administration’s pretense has been humanitarian concerns over the deranged results of Israeli bombing in the region. Nevertheless, darker and less altruistic motives are just underneath the subterfuge of Trump’s sudden and out of character humanitarian streak.

For instance, Jared Kushner’s – Donald Trump’s son in law – has ties to Israel through his father, Charles Kushner, which are well-documented. Charles Kushner, a wealthy real estate developer and philanthropist, has been a strong supporter of Israel, donating millions to Israeli causes and institutions, including settlements in the West Bank. The Kushner family has close relationships with prominent Israeli politicians, including former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who once stayed in Jared’s childhood home. These deep financial and personal ties have raised questions about Jared Kushner’s role in U.S. policy decisions related to Israel during the Trump administration.

At the start of a White House meeting with Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Trump reiterated that the United States would oversee Gaza, aiming to secure peace and prevent any challenges to its management.

“We’re going to have it, we’re going to keep it, and we’re going to make sure there’s peace, no problems, no questions about it, and that we will administer it properly,” the U.S. president declared.

According to Trump, his plan for Gaza includes an extensive economic development project, featuring the construction of hotels, office buildings, and residential housing. As part of this strategy, the idea of relocating Palestinians currently living in Gaza has emerged. Trump suggested that these residents could be moved to “parcels” of land in Jordan and Egypt due to the territorial limitations for both the population and future real estate development.

“I think we’ll have a parcel in Jordan, I think we’ll have a parcel in Egypt, and maybe somewhere else. But I believe that once we finish our discussions, we will have a place where they will live very happily and very safely,” Trump stated.

The president also emphasized that many Palestinians remain in Gaza simply because “they don’t know anything else,” suggesting that relocation could offer them a new opportunity for life in other countries.

Jordan Accepts Palestinian Children in Need of Medical Treatment

Amid diplomatic tensions, Jordan’s King Abdullah II made a significant announcement at the beginning of his meeting with Trump: Jordan will accept, “as soon as possible,” 2,000 Palestinian children from Gaza who require urgent medical treatment, mostly for illnesses such as cancer.

This humanitarian gesture was praised by Trump, who called the decision “truly beautiful,” highlighting Jordan’s efforts to assist its neighbors.

Regional Resistance and International Condemnation

Regarding the regional stance, King Abdullah II made it clear that Jordan would oppose any attempt to alter the current status of Gaza, emphasizing the need for a political solution that respects the creation of an independent Palestinian state. According to his statements, any proposal involving the displacement of the Palestinian population would only exacerbate tensions.

Opposition to Trump’s plan is not limited to Jordan and Egypt. Across the Arab world, there has been strong condemnation of the U.S. initiative. As a result, an extraordinary Arab League summit is set to take place in Cairo on February 27, where regional leaders will formulate a unified stance against the American proposal. The summit will serve as a platform to address the forced displacement of Palestinians and present a collective response to the situation.

Finally, in a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump also outlined his vision for Gaza, describing it as the “Riviera of the Middle East,” fueled by the resettlement of Palestinians in neighboring countries.
