Heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury and mixed martial arts (MMA) superstar Francis Ngannou are set to square off in an epic boxing match in Saudi Arabia on October 28.
The fight, which will follow the rules of professional boxing with three judges adopting the 10-point system, has set off a new wave of excitement amongst fans as both fighters will be getting out of their respective comfort zones to face each other.
Fury hasn’t fought since last December when he beat Derek Chisora in 10 rounds, but the heavyweight champion is looking forward to his next battle. “As soon as the bell rings, it will be a bomb drop. This guy is supposed to be the hardest puncher in the world, but let’s see how he reacts when he gets hit by the Big GK,” said Fury.
His 36-year-old opponent has no professional boxing record, but this challenge has always been a dream of Ngannou. “I’ve been waiting the last three years to meet Tyson in the ring. My dream was always to box, and to box against the best,” said Ngannou.
The fight has the potential to draw massive audiences similar to the 2017 bout between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor. Who will come out victorious? We’ll have to wait until October to find out.
