Mother of newspaper administratror for 'Lo Real de Guerrero' in Acapulco is murdered date: February 20, 2017

An armed group attacked her home.

Chilpancingo, Guerrero.- Mother of newspaper administratror in Acapulco is murdered. A group of armed men approached her as she stepped outside of her house, opened fire and killed her.

At around 10:30 am, a group of still unidentified men in a moving vehicle opened fire on an elder woman in Acapulco, Guerrero. They used high caliber assault rifles as Mrs. Reina walked out of her house to begin her daily activities. She was seriously hurt.

She was immediately transported to the General Hospital of Donato G Alarcon, located in the same area as the port of Acapulco. She was pronounced dead minutes later.

Elements of the National Gendarmerie arrived minutes afterwards to the scene of the crime, alongside forensic expers of the Attorney General's office to inspect evidence and begin an investigation.

The website in question is specialized in reporting violence that occured in Guerrero, but most particularly, focused on the city of Acapulco, where a crime wave has left thousands dead since 2005, the in which criminal groups layed waste to the local port.

In the evening, the general director of the website, Nelson Matus, via an official communique lamented the death of his chief adminstrators' mother, Dulce Violeta De Labra Balbuena.

"My solidarity and deepest indignation is expressed at the tragedy befallen on Mrs. Reina, her daughter Dulce violeta and their whole family that collaborates with 'Lo Real de Guerrero'"

The website is projected to lose 50 percent of its daily output due to the difficulty of dealing with Dulce Violeta's loss. The website asked for its audience understanding during these difficult moments.

Despite this heinous act, neither the state authorities of Guerrero or local authorities of Acapulco have made any official declaration regarding this event. They have taken no stance on the matter.
