Colombia Dating Apps Now Issue Warnings for Trends and Dangers Aimed at Curtailing Foreigner Deaths

While much of Latin America must contend with the broad scale abuse of people overall, foreigners are starting to also become easy prey for criminal bandits that can anticipate people’s vices. According to the Colombian press, Tinder, Bumble and other similar applications will take safety measures to alert users of common traps and pitfalls.

Tinder Profile On Twitter

Through the application, Tinder and Bumble users will be able to dial 123 (Colombia’s equivalent of 911) if they feel they are in danger while the application will scan for notices or other useful information for all users. The 123 service will also speak in English and other European languages that are common amongst foreign visitors.

Dating Dynamic Exploited

Without insulting the consumer base of Bumble, Tinder, Hinge etc., one can easily surmise that a large majority of the male and heterosexual base of users is looking to pair with as many female users as possible, buying the paid features to increase their swipes and even moving towards places where their dollar can yield better experiences for their dates and more desirable results due to that dollar, and aesthetics that they find more pleasing as European and American populations diminish in attractiveness.

As people’s presence is more and more ubiquitous in those apps, the issue is that many men are letting their guard down and falling for basic traps, like being led to a club or area they are unfamiliar with or pairing with women who are likely way too out of their league or even part of a clandestine group. These individuals are being drugged, robbed and at worse, accidently murdered or even intentionally.

However, foreigners are not only victims, but also aggressors in some applications. In some instances, foreigners after establishing a relationship with a local individual begin to become aggressive and abusive with high profile murderers occurring in Medellin, Co. from married men who chose to have an obsessive relationship with an additional partner.
