The 66th edition of the Grammy Awards was an evening full of pride and recognition for Colombia and its music. On the red carpet, figures such as Juanes, Karol G and Maluma dazzled with their presence and demonstrated the talent and versatility of their country’s artists.
La Bichota won her first Grammy
Karol G, who has become a phenomenon in the music industry, also made history by becoming the first woman to win the award for Best Urban Music Album. Her album ‘Mañana Será Bonito’ beat out stiff competition from other prominent artists such as Tainy and Rauw Alejandro. This victory marks an important milestone in the career of the 32-year-old singer, who has achieved worldwide recognition thanks to her infectious lyrics and unique rhythm.
Karol G took the stage, received her first Grammy presented by Maluma and Christina Aguilera, and said: “Hello everyone, my name is Carolina, I’m from Medellin, Colombia. This is the first time I receive a Grammy. I am very happy, very excited to be with so many people, so many legends that I admire and respect. This is something beautiful, this album has left me with the best memories of my whole life. Thank you all. I promise you that I will always give you my best. I hope this is the first of many.”
Juanes is the Colombian artist with the most Grammys in history
The highlight of the night was when Juanes took home his fourth Grammy, becoming the Colombian artist with the most awards at the prestigious ceremony. His album “Vida Cotidiana” was awarded Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album, cementing his position as one of Latin America’s greatest musicians, surpassing fellow artists Shakira (3) and Carlos Vives (2).

He was born in Medellin Antioquia and from a very young age showed his great talent and passion for music. In 2000 he released his first solo album, “Fíjate bien”, which was a great success in Colombia and the United States, winning multiple awards and nominations. With subsequent albums such as “Un día normal” and “Mi sangre”, Juanes consolidated his career internationally, becoming one of the most important and recognized Latin artists worldwide.
In 2008, he won his first Grammy for his album “La vida es un ratico” in the category of Best Latin Pop Album. In 2012, he received another award for his work in “MTV Unplugged Deluxe Session” in the same category. In 2021, he was again recognized for his album “Origen” in the Best Rock or Alternative Album category. In total, Juanes has received four Grammy Awards throughout his musical career.
