Just in time for the holidays, Karol G returned to her homebase of Medellin, Colombia to launch the important first leg of her Mañana Sera Bonito Fest on December 1st, 2023. Our correspondents were there, led by Natalia Rueda, and the effort to document the experience was well underway days prior.
Medellin’s Charm
The city of Medellin embraces tourism of all types. At this point, we don’t assume anything about what drives tourism into the city the most. While nightmare stories are popular, chances are that people reap what they sow. If you’re looking for criminal nightlife, you’ll find it with the likely consequences. However, if you’re into great views, good transport and excellent food and drink, then this city has those amenities in drove. Uber does work here, without the baggage of strikes associated with Bogota, Co.

The city is well situated for tourism. Exchanges for currency are plentiful, while transportation from airports to your specific hotel is common and sometimes necessary for convenience and safety.
Karol G’s Event Ticket Pickup
As expected, the queues are enormous for everything related to the Colombian star. Just for obtaining the VIP tickets, one had to go to a specific shopping center with the debit card used to purchase these alongside an ID. The concert organizers were keen to not permit the scalping of the items either, as these tickets were part of a bank and Karol G collaboration for that specific bank’s users. You can read about those specific details in the link on ‘bank’ since that seems to be a common pattern for advanced purchases of VIP tickets.
The actual concert and build up was incredible. Karol G’s visuals dominant in the city space. It wasn’t Karol G’s night, man, it was her city. As we approached the actual soccer stadium hosting her event, everything was about La Bichota. One can not help but think that this was a carefully coordinated event between city officials, Karol G’s label and the vast number of merchants benefiting from the foot traffic. Provenza – The Classic
What was most appropriate was the closing of the show with Provenza. For many, this marks the middle ground between her relationship with Anuel AA and a path to stardom and her now systematic takeover of Spanish pop and commercial success.
