NASA and the Canadian Space Agency have announced the four astronauts who will make up the Artemis II mission, the first manned mission to the moon since the iconic Apollo missions of the 1960s and 1970s. The mission, scheduled for late 2024, will be a step history in space exploration.

Leading the mission will be Commander Reid Wiseman and joining him will be Engineer Christina Koch, Pilot Victor Glover and Specialist Jeremy Hansen. This will be the first mission to have an African-American and a woman as part of the crew.

The mission will be a major milestone in the Artemis program, which aims to establish a sustainable human presence on the moon. The astronauts will spend a week in lunar orbit, testing the Orion spacecraft and preparing for future moon landings.

This mission is a testament to the hard work of the crews of the Apollo missions, who paved the way for new generations of space exploration. It is a remarkable moment in history and a reminder of the power of human exploration.
