The Arrest of Ismael Zambada García
Many law enforcement agencies are heralding a ground-breaking success for anti-narcotic policy with the arrest of el Mayo Zambada.
Ismael Zambada Garcia was the seemingly invincible Mexican drug lord for a long time. Famously, Ismael Zambada García, widely known as ‘El Mayo’, had never even set foot in a jail. Even now, when in the afternoon in Texas his airplane arrived to a discrete set of DEA agents waiting to take him into custody. Most experts are being measured with their assertions and speculations, but most would also agree that there is simply no way such a peaceful yet groundbreaking arrest would not be premeditated by authorities and Zambada alike.

Health Concerns and Speculation
Several sources report that Zambada, 76, had turned himself in due to severe health deterioration requiring specialized medical attention. This shrewd calculus may now place the onerous of his health onto US authorities. However, others speculate his arrest might have been prearranged with the United States government given his long-standing evasion of the authorities.
Some even predict political fallout in Mexico, particularly for President Andres Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), if Zambada discloses any illicit political connections. However, we sincerely doubt the possibility of any links as the current government while granting special gestures for El Chapo’s mother, they have also exported significant CDS figures.
Other Arrests Linked to Zambada
It’s also reported that Joaquín Guzmán López, son of infamous drug lord “El Chapo,” had surrendered along with Zambada to U.S. authorities. While the nature of these arrests herald a major blow to the Sinaloa Cartel, many are anxiously awaiting the ramifications these events may usher on the Mexican underworld and its relationship with the U.S.
