On April 20, boxing fans will be treated to a highly anticipated showdown between two up-and-coming stars of the sport. Ryan Garcia for the WBC super lightweight world title will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
According to Gracia’s promoter, Oscar de la Hoya, the Mexican-American Ryan Garcia will earn 30 million dollars for stepping into the ring and fighting Devin Haney, which generates even more excitement and expectation for this fight because probably if he wins the fight, this figure will double.

Garcia has given much food for thought for his erratic videos where he exhibits behavior that betrays a possible lack of concentration and evidence of mental illness. In one video and livespace, he alleges that the apocalypse is coming because of Middle Eastern issues. In another, he alleges that Hollywood and editors/producers forced him to watch satanic videos of child molestation. Still, the Chicano from Victorville, CA, claimed to be extremely close to his Mexican people despite not speaking Spanish.
However, Garcia’s possible lack of preparation is not in his favor to win this fight although retired boxer, Shawn Porter, claims that perhaps it is an act by Garcia and he is actually feinting to make Haney unfocused or overconfident. Maybe, but in our opinion, the favorite is Devin Haney because of his discipline although we would like to see Ryan Garcia win because of cultural solidarity.
Where, when and where to watch?
The long-awaited showdown is on April 20, 2024, and will be broadcast on the streaming platform DAZN and will also be available on PPV in the United States. In Mexico, the fight will be broadcast on Azteca 7 on tape delay. The fighters are expected to enter the ring at around 11:30 p.m. local time and 9:30 p.m. CDMX time
In the face-to-face showdown between the two boxers at the Empire State Building, Haney did not control his anger at the comments made to him by ‘King Ryan’ and pushed him into the crowd around him.
The boxing world will watch as these two young stars face off in what is sure to be an epic battle. Both Haney and Garcia have built impressive careers thus far but this fight will determine which one continues to rise to the top of the sport.
