The incorporation of technology into all aspects of our lives has brought with it a number of advances and conveniences, but it has also generated certain dangers and risks, especially for teenagers. One of the greatest dangers facing young people in the age of artificial intelligence is that of falling victim to deepfake pornography.
Deepfake pornography is a form of AI-generated sexual content that superimposes faces of real people (often celebrities or non-consenting individuals) on pornographic photos or videos. Unfortunately with a single photo it is possible to become a victim of deepfake pornography. Artificial intelligence technology makes it possible to generate very realistic fake videos by superimposing one person’s face on another person’s body in a pornographic video.
Why Is it a Threat in Society, Especially Among Young People?
For teens, the impact of deepfake pornography can be especially devastating. First, these fake images and videos can be used to bully, harass or humiliate young people online, causing severe emotional and psychological harm. In addition, they can be used to extort money from teenagers, demanding sexual favors in exchange for not disseminating the images or videos.
In addition, the ease with which deepfakes can be created increases the risk of teens falling victim to online sexual predators. These individuals can use fake images and videos to make young people believe that they are talking to someone their own age and, thus, obtain personal information and build trust before attempting any type of abuse.
Therefore, it is essential that parents, educators and society in general are informed and aware of these dangers. It is important to educate young people about the responsible use of technology and the importance of protecting their privacy online. In addition, there is a need for authorities to regulate and take measures to prevent the dissemination of deepfake pornography and for there to be legal consequences for those who produce and share it.
In summary, deepfake pornography is a form of sexual abuse and exploitation that causes real harm to individuals and society. It raises serious ethical concerns and requires concerted efforts to combat it and support victims. It is important to raise awareness of its dangers.
