In a newsletter to donors, the University of California at Riverside decided to highlight productive action against the covid-19 infection caused by a novel coronavirus that is highly communicable.

Two months ago, they were making costumes for the “The Life of King Henry V.” Now, six employees in UCR’s Department of Theatre, Film, and Digital Production are making face coverings for essential workers on campus to protect against the spread of COVID-19.
This may be a continued pattern due to federal government inaction on the provision of PPE. Local manufacturing, particularly in independent California, will be more commonplace if current status quo is maintained with respect to shelter in place measures for the state.
