Dozens Dead Over Bloody Weekend In Guerrero (11/16/2017)
La Cartita --- The past 7 days in the state of Guerrero have been the bloodiest in recent memory. 20 people were killed over the weekend. Acapulco, a former tourist attraction, saw 8 people murdered in cold blood. In a reptilian haze, local criminals linked to federal authorities are executing rivals, employees and civilians in an almost indiscriminate manner, leaving their bodies mutilated and exposed to the general public. A corrupt terrorism pilfers the state, leaving children and adults alike distraught and disempowered.

In Chilpancingo, the state's capital, 3 dead bodies in distinct points appeared in the city yesterday afternoon as the head of public safety addressed members of the state's congress to brief them on the region's lack of security. The bodies surfaced with notes on them depicting the supposed crime for which they were murdered.

On Monday, the 15 of November, the bodies of more dead men appeared in Tlapa, Guerrero, an area near the Ayotzinapa Rural Teachers College, and in Iguala, Guerrero, where the 43 students of Ayotzinapa were kidnapped by members of Mexico's security forces in 2014. The students are yet to be found and their case is still an important issue to the Mexican public.
In Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, the bodies of 9 other individuals were found on Tuesday too. Among them was a local independent candidate for mayor of Zihuatanejo alongside his bodyguard. In Mexico, it has become routine since the presidency of Felipe Calderon for mayors to be assasinated and for candidates who bother local traffickers to be eliminated too.
