Two weeks ago, Colombian Ana Maria Knezevich, 40, left her life in the United States and went to Spain in search of a new beginning after the separation with her husband, a Serbian named David Knezevich with whom she lived in Florida. However, what should have been an opportunity for a fresh start has turned into a nightmare for her family and friends, as no one has heard from her since February 3.
In her last contact with her family, Ana María had told them of her plans to move to a new house in Madrid and suspiciously commented that she was going on a trip with a person she had recently met. However, the messages contained expressions that were not Ana Maria’s own. Unfortunately, she never arrived at any of these places and her disappearance has generated great concern and requests for help from her family in Colombia. The FBI is joining the investigations.
Initially, her family and friends waited 9 days to report her missing as they believed she was simply busy with all the moving business. However, when a friend tried to visit her at her home and found that the security cameras were painted black, suspicions and concerns arose as to what might have happened to Ana Maria.
So far, the investigation into her disappearance has not yielded any conclusive leads. Her belongings were found intact in her apartment and her ex-partner has not been contacted to give statements. Spanish authorities have judicial approval to access the location of Ana Maria’s phone.
