On Saturday, May 18, authorities found the lifeless body of Private Katia Duenas-Aguilar at a residence in Clarksville, Tennessee. The young woman, only 23 years old, had been stationed at Fort Campbell and was a member of the 101st Airborne Division’s Combat Aviation Brigade. Her death was ruled a homicide and an investigation was launched.
According to Army spokesman Lt. Col. Tony Hoefler, they are working with local authorities to solve the case. Duenas-Aguilar was born in Mesquite, Texas and was the mother of a 4-year-old son. She had been awarded several medals and ribbons for her service in the Army, a testament to her dedication to her country.

According to the Clarksville Police Department, the discovery of the body occurred after receiving an emergency call around 8:30 pm. The residence where Duenas Aguilar was found was located near the military base, raising concerns about safety in the area. So far, no one has been arrested for this crime.
